A Beaver loss GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, they lost to the Cougs. It was a terrible performance by a pretty decent football team. I wouldn’t have a problem with an OT loss or a failed 2pt conversion. Beaves abandoned what they were dominating with…an that just stings.
Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!
First, my low back hurts this morning. Why? Because it hurts. I was doing some wood destruction (carpentry) this weekend and was in an awkward position. Or it’s cause I sit like a bag of dirt on my couch while watching shows. Whatever…it hurts.
Still, didn’t stop me from musing about stuff this weekend.
Indigenous Peoples Day is today. By executive order of the President, we “observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and celebrations.” That’s what the order says.
One of the things I like to do is explore revisionist history. Basically that is a game of the mind where you take an historical event and play with different things interceding. Then, you ask “what if” and toss around what might have happened. What if Christopher Columbus’ fleet sank before reaching the ‘Mericas?
No survivors because they were eaten by sharks or whatever.
Would that have changed the outcome that fell upon The Peoples that were already here?
Nope. Europe would have kept coming. Columbus gets the credited for “discovering” ‘Merica. However, there were actually a lot of people that already knew ‘Merica was here.
There weren’t that many “flat earthers” at the time. In fact, there are probably more “flat earthers” today that back then.
“What if The People stopped westward expansion?” Good question. Is it possible that The People could have stopped the westward expansion at the Mississippi or at the 13 colonies? Maybe. They would have suffered terrible from the use of biological warfare (disease spread). That would have pushed them away from the 13 colonies. However, they could have recovered enough to make a stand at the Mississippi.
What would the world, let alone the ‘Mericas, look like and be like today? Who knows. I can assure you there would be way fewer mass graves being dug up today from boarding schools whose mission was to assimilate The Peoples by whatever means to include killing children
