Tech Talk Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY! Time for some crypto shit!
Recently there was an auction.
The auction item was for a rare copy of the US Constitution. Apparently there were like 20 hand written copies sent out to the various delegates of the Constitutional Convention.
The copy sold for $47 million.
Part of the crypto world has what they call a DAO. Decentralized Autonomous Organization. As I continue my journey this thing shows up a lot. And, in this situation, it was kind of a big deal. But you never heard about it.
ConstitutionDAO was it’s name. In a few short weeks, the group managed to pool together around $45 million. Or something like that.
What would normally take months to do in the corporate world took a few weeks. Meaning what? Well, a few people got together and created an NFT. They sold pieces of that NFT to people who wanted to be involved in the purchase of said copy. You could buy in with crypto currency. Ethereum to be exact.
Which means what? Well…that is the power of this blockchain/ crypto/ NFT/ DAO thing. ANYONE CAN DO IT! Imagine a time when you could arrange the finances of friends and family into a consortium where the group ends up buying a copy of the Constitution? It doesn’t have to be the Constitution. It could be almost anything. No bank or regulators or any of the other stuff. Just a group getting together and taking care of business.
It’s in it’s infancy but that time is now. Stay tuned and research it.
