A the hell is wrong with my keyboard GOOD MORNING!!! to you all. Yup, technology being stupid on me. Might be a demon or the Russians hacking into my blog! Hmmm
Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! Not sure on pizza night and no open mat. Bummer.
I’m attending a webinar today about representing veterans at the VA.
Dad’s a vet. He should get a bunch of benefits considering his military service probably assisted A BUNCH in putting him in this state. Side bar: I firmly believe he was exposed to Agent Orange during the Vietnam conflict. This increased his likelihood of dementia and his skin condition (looks like big ass bruises on his arms). I know it took his hearing.
Anyway…
The spirit of the law that created the VA (Veteran’s Administration) has a great start. Should have been a model for socialized medicine and proof that it works. Well, it seems to fall a bit short. Actually, a lot short.
The reason for the failure isn’t because of the concept. It is because of the belief that some have that a monster of an administrative agency would prove far more beneficial to veterans than a streamlined and efficient organization that paid the employees a wage that would inspire people to do great things.
But no. That would take way too much time and effort. Instead, they opted for rules and regulations resulting in hundreds of different forms to fill out for various programs provided by the VA. Great programs…if you know the paperwork to fill out.
And when you are a grieving spouse of a veteran, guess what? You probably have ZERO idea of what to fill out.
Here’s the other catch that is really pissing me off: Income Thresholds.
See, if a veteran makes too much money, they will not qualify for many benefits.
Now, understand me. There are veterans I don’t like. I disagree with their stance on whatever. If you earned the status of ”Veteran” then you should qualify for those benefits NO MATTER WHAT! Especially since the reason you are asking for them is probably because your military service…FUCKED YOU UP!
There are a BUNCH of veterans who are going to need help soon. VA needs to get that shit together FAST!
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember Santa’s favorite snack is CHRIS -PRINGLES! HAHAHAHAHAHA…f-ing keyboard!
Peace
