Ed-vise Episode 292

A lights hung GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, managed to get some Christmas lights up at mom and dad’s place. I think Newbie liked them but it took a little bit for her to acknowledge the prowess that her father has in exterior holiday illumination.

Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So, GET AFTER IT!

I was and still am a bit pissed off about this entire situation with my dad.

See, I was given a call in late November from my brother in law. Frantic he was. Dad dying with days or hours to live. Sister not doing well due to denial; mom not doing well because of denial and other issues. Nobody communicating with anyone and hell, fire and damnation.

At the time, dad was in a rehabilitation center here in So. Cal.

According to bro in law, a doctor or a social worker gave them that information…the hell fire and damnation stuff.

When I arrived to the center, dad did not look good. Further, the food they gave him was garbage at best. When dad got home, he was unconscious. Out. I have to wonder if he was given something by the rehab facility for his transport. Again, bro in law let it be known the information he was given about dad’s soon to be ending.

I sat down with hospice. Hospice nurse, MJ, told me that if a patient stops eating and drinking they will have around seven days. That’s if they stop eating and drinking on their own. You can IV feed them and keep them around longer. But, if, on their own, they stop…seven days.

Fine.

Well guess what people? My dad eats like a GODDAMN HORSE! Three times a day. Drinks fluids easily and consistently!

So, what has me pissed is SOMEBODY told my bro in law a bunch of shit, or my bro in law is talking a bunch of shit! This is going to be a long drawn out thing and I am 99% certain it is NOT what my dad would want! Being bed ridden is not really his thing.

I am 100% certain that if he stayed in that care facility, he would have died already. The food and treatment would have killed even the healthiest of people. Now, with him home, I have no idea but I am pretty certain he will be here Christmas Day…and very likely into 2022.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember Christmas is a horrible time for a Ginger Bread man. Sad…but FUNNY HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Peace
