A more snow GOOD MORNING!!! to you all. Yup, more snow. I’m kinda done with White Christmas. But, I prefer the snow over the rain, and DEFINETLY over wind…uggghhh!
Tech Talk Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY! Time for some tech stuff.
The other day I was contemplating web3.0 and crypto stuff. Not really. But it’s a good way to start this post.
I watched a video about the Metaverse. The Metaverse relates to computer generated worlds. Seriously. They do not exist in the physical space like the world we live on now. Rather, it is a series of computer generated data that make up different “lands.”
You can buy these “lands.” Some sell as low as $15,000. Others go into the millions of actual dollars. MILLIONS! For a virtual piece of real estate.
A person bought a piece of land next to a piece that Snoop Dogg had purchased. That person paid around $800,000! They used crypto currency for the purchase.
“How” you ask? I will tell you.
You go onto a crypto exchange. You go through all the steps to set up your account and your wallet and link your bank account in order to transfer fiat currency into the crypto currency account. Then, you buy your crypto currency.
Next, you go to the Metaverse land you want. A few are Digitaland, Sandbox, Roblox etc. Put on your virtual headset and wonder around. I have yet to do so because I don’t have a virtual headset. But I plan to in 2022. Why? Because I want to see what the future holds! Who wouldn’t!
Will I buy any land? Doubt it. But sitting in a virtual library filled with books? OHHH MAN! I would simply get lost in it.
