I think judges should be armed.
They used to be back in the day.
“Hanging Judge” Isaac Parker (1836 – 1896) armed himself. Carried pistols. In fact, there are many tales of judges “packing heat” in the court room. Why? Well, sometimes, they needed to use them.
There have been several stories popping up about judges being killed or threatened to be killed. Case in point, just yesterday a man was arrested near Judge Kavanaugh’s house. He was armed and wanted to kill the justice.
“Moscow” Mitch McConnell out of the “Lube State” (KY for those that don’t know) wants more money for better protection of judges.
Why? What makes them so special that they deserve better protection from gun wielding crazies than kids in school?
After all, aren’t the judges just keeping in lock step with the NRA and keeping a “well regulated militia” armed? You’d think that ALL people with guns would want to keep those judges alive!
But I digress
Much like the call by the Fox News Turds about arming teachers, I think we should arm judges.
Pass laws that say “as a judge you WILL openly carry a side arm at all times when in court.” I don’t see any issue with it at all.
There is no need to train them on how to use the weapon or how to fire it or aim it or ANY of that. They can YouTube it on their time (of course).
They’d be protecting the courtroom from any outbursts or violence. Add to that, if you had an unruly party (lawyers included), they wouldn’t need to bang the gavel to control their courtroom. One round going off in whatever direction: Perfect Silence.
It makes sense don’t you think?
I mean if the conversation is about arming teachers, why can’t we arm judges? What makes them so special?
