Technically Talkin Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…Technically!
When it comes to the Supreme Court of these here U-NITED States, I generally don’t have a problem. I know they are “political” because they are appointed by politicians. I know they are generally brilliant legal minds (even if you disagree with their opinion). They did not rise to that level by just getting a law degree though some may think otherwise. By the way, you don’t need a law degree to be a Supreme Court Justice.
None the less, they are humans. Further, they are ‘Murican citizens.
Recently, Justice Kavanaugh went to Morton’s Steak House for dinner in DC. I’ve been to Morton’s in LA. Bit overpriced for what I would consider Costco sized servings. But, we pay for image and we pay for the ability to say “I’ve been to Morton’s.”
Well, because in today’s day and age, as with ANY day and age, protestors went to the restaurant and protested. Peacefully, outside. They did not interfere with any diners. They simply protested Kavanaugh’s Roe and other controversial decisions.
Of course, Morton’s made the mistake of weighing in, politically. Bad move. And, of course, the Faux-Cons (new word!) are up in arms about it.
Well, I don’t see a problem.
See, Technically, judges do NOT have special privileges to escape the consequences of their decisions. Just like EVERYONE else. If they don’t like it, they shouldn’t have taken the job.
That does not mean that protestors should physically attack them. NOT AT ALL and I condemn any protestors that do. Still, demonstrations such as the Morton’s one are EXACTLY what the 1st Amendment is all about.
I’m just saying
