Well, last night the Jan. 6 hearings wrapped up. Took over primetime network to showcase the hearings. I think it interrupted Big Brother which did not make Spousal Support Unit happy.
I did not watch any of it. Didn’t need to as I read up on the hearings. In addition, I already have my own opinion about the whole thing. Much like everyone else does.
So, at the end of the day, what has these hearings done?
Well, it has attempted to place people in an uncomfortable light. Especially with re-elections coming up. Many will have to explain to their respective voting people why they did what they did, supported who they did and why they asked for a pardon when they supposedly did nothing wrong. In that sense of things, you would ask for a pardon in advance of doing bad things.
Did the hearings set up for T-Rump to have criminal charges brought against him?
I’m gonna say no. Nothing from what I see would rise to the level of criminal charges. You are correct in saying he did not uphold his oath of office. That isn’t a crime. Politicians and T-Rump NEVER uphold their oath of office. It is simply theatrical words to make it all seem patriotic.
Can he run for re-election? Yup. He probably will too. Might even win if people don’t turn out to vote. The cool thing that could happen is he gets beat in the primary and then says the primary was stolen like he has about the election being stolen. THAT would be AWESOME!
In the end of all these hearings, we do have some pretty good memes about stuff. The big one going around is how brave, fist pumping senator Josh Hawley, bravely tucked his tail and ran away! Pretty good ones if you ask me. The other that is probably better is the one where there is a gentleman in the crowd that looks like Clark Kent (Superman). People posting about how this person was going to save democracy. Google it. You’ll see what I mean.
So, plenty of time taken on the hearings. Plenty of money spent. When it is all said and done, the words of Hillary Clinton come to mind: “What difference does it make?” I guess we will see come election time.
