OK, I have to blog on this one.
I read a headline where a bishop (church type) was robbed at gunpoint during his church service that he was live streaming.
Three men came in with guns and hoods and robbed the bishop of…get this…HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of DOLLARS worth of jewelry.
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS!
I have no sympathy for this bishop or any of the bishops that are that vane to put something on that costs more than their head.
These Mega preachers and bishops like this turn my stomach with the extravagant lifestyle they live at the expense of worshippers who freely give to the church. They give to the church out of a sense of guilt found in scriptures. They give their money to the church and the church leaders are poor stewards of that money.
See, back in the day, talkin a LONG time ago, there were no social nets as we see today. Social nets were established by the church. That is if you fell on hard times, it was the church that stepped in and helped you out. And that’s why people loved their church. Because the church had their back.
Not anymore.
As the temps heat up, Portland has these “Cooling Centers” set up. Centers where people can go to get out of the heat. It was the news that made this known. I have not seen one single church in or around Portland advertise that they are open to the public as cooling centers. None.
Why not? Probably because it costs money to operate the AC. Then staff to help as needed. Oh no! More money! That means preacher man won’t be able to afford his car payment or his replacement jewelry!
I have no sympathy for a “Man of God” getting robbed of his hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Especially when so many struggle to make ends meet these days. I find it fitting that it was done in broad daylight on live stream. Seems the robbers did not respect that this was a “Man of God” they were robbing. I wonder why…
