A hot air balloon GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, hot air balloons going up right outside the gym this morning. Very cool to watch as they drifted up into the sky. Never rode one before. Put it on my bucket list!
Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!
This weekend I watched Prey.
That’s the new Predator movie that is on Hulu. It should have gone to the theatres because, well, it’s pretty damn good…I must say.
Predator has been beating up on and getting defeated by all kinds of humans (Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, Alien). Pretty standard stuff on the tech side with a cloaking/ light bending camouflage, laser weapons guidance systems, extreme physical attributes etc., etc., etc. All the things an alien hunter should have. Add to that the IR vision and increased auditory capabilities.
Usually the setting is “present” time or future.
This time, the Predator takes it to the Earth past and deals with the Cherokee and French trappers. Around the 1700s when Good ol ‘Murica wasn’t really set up.
Predator encounters a band of Cherokee who happen to have the heroes in a brother and sister. Sister is the big time hero of the whole thing played by Amber Midthunder.
After the movie, I got to Musing. I played with the idea of the Cherokee capturing the technology that this creature brought down. What if they were able to look at it long enough to start to understand it? Then, what if they could replicate it? Or perhaps Predator brought a whole bunch of extra stuff. Then what?
In the movie Independence Day: Resurgence, Earth had taken the alien technology and made it their own. What if the Cherokee Nation had been able to do the same with the Predator technology? If nothing else but the camouflage part. MAN! The whole game of Manifest Destiny would have taken on an ENTIRELY different meaning.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember never trust a blacksmith with your checkbook. They are…FORGERS!!! HAHAHHAHHAAHA…oh!
Peace
