Ed-vise: Pops update

A Little League World Series GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, it’s BACK! Little League World Series regionals have started. Watched the NW do some of their work and it looks like Washington will be headed to the bigger stage. Good job!

Technically Talking Tuesday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s TUESDAY…Technically.

Gonna give a Pops update here.

He has been removed from hospice! Which, is a good thing and a…question.

So, mom has never liked hospice. It is a bit too final for her.

Pops was on hospice care since December of last year. Hospice, if you don’t know, can go on for quite some time. It is paid for through Medicare which picks up a big chunk of the cost so people on their last legs can, well, check out in comfort.

For my parents, the bed, Hoyer-lift, medical supplies and such, were all paid for through hospice. Which brings up the question of “Now What?”

Well, now, we will end up picking up the tab.

OK, fine. Pops was really good at the whole finances thing so they should be fine…so long as mom doesn’t hire another LYING WEASEL OF A CONTRACTOR! F-ing contractors! But that is a later discussion.

Hospice was able to be removed because Pops is stable. See, hospice was in place and stayed in place because Pops was on his death bed and Pops’ heart and blood pressure couldn’t get under control. Well, now it is! Which, like I said, is a good thing. Pops has always been a driven person. Very focused and very much a hard worker. Loves physical labor. I do too, just not so much.

Now that he is off hospice, we can start looking at how do we get him back on his feet. Is there any possible way to heal his brain? Can we get him back to “normal” at all? We just don’t know.

Now, here comes the somewhat Technically side of the conversation.

Congress passed the PACT act. After the little bitches of Republidiots pitched a little bitch and voted against it, Jon Stewart hammered them and the thing was passed.

That act will open up more presumptions for the sicknesses created by old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in. In essence more presumptions for Agent Orange and Burn Pit Exposures. This may very well set up Pops to have the VA replace hospice AND get mom compensated for being Pops’ caregiver.

Stay tuned as I will keep you posted.

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember the difference between a hippo and a zippo: one is heavy; the other is…A LITTLE LIGHTER! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA…(snort laugh)!

Peace
