A sneezy GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, sneezing through the night because I was in the attic yesterday of Pop’s house pulling dusty ass boxes out to go through. Dusty and HOT up there!
Think About It Thursday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s THURSDAY! Time to THINK!
Mom’s “No Longer 70” birthday yesterday. So, I took her out to her favorite restaurant Rodrigo’s.
Not a bad place. She loves so, that is where we went.
Drove around and went to Hobby Lobby. NOT MY CHOICE! But, her day so that’s where we went.
She wondered around. Didn’t buy; didn’t know what she wanted so she just went aisle by aisle looking at stuff.
Normally, this would piss me off. I’m not a shopper. Especially at Hobby Lobby. Wondering aisles is NOT my thing. If I had to choose between dodging road bombs in Iraq and wondering Hobby Lobby aisles, fill up my tank with gas and send me down the dirt roads cause THAT would be easier!
But, not my day…mom’s day. And I followed her. Didn’t say anything. Didn’t rush her. Just followed along.
She asked me if I could pick any country in the world to live, where would I go. I told her there are lots of countries I would visit. Some for an extended visit. But to “live”, I pointed out I like coming back here to the states.
Which caused me to Think About It. I encourage you to do the same.
When that type question comes up during a sad time, it’s because that person doesn’t know the next step. The only thing they really want to do is run far, far, away. To just get away from everyone and the stress of life. To find some sort of peace where they don’t have to feel sad.
When Pops first went down, my cousin checked in on me. I told her at one point “I just want to go home and shoot zombies.” Very much like I feel now.
On Call of Duty: Black Ops, there is a scenario based somewhere in Russia. It is a village called Golova. That scenario of the game was all I wanted to “escape” to. An “empty” little village. Nobody else in it. A river to fish in or sit by fed by a stream from the surrounding mountains. Russian Orthodox church at the top of the village. Some houses, some farms, a few shops. Even has a horse riding arena. It is an escape…filled with zombies!
Mom didn’t express much interest in shooting zombies. I didn’t really have an answer that interested her as far as countries were concerned. So, we wondered the aisles of Hobby Lobby.
She’ll get through this. It’s just a low point in her life. She did talk about becoming a nun. Who knows. I kind of doubt she’d last because she tends to have a hard time keeping her opinion to herself.
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember what the sushi said to the bumble bee…WASA-BEE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…get it?!
Peace
