Ed-vise: Strangers

A Tampa Bay loss GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, the Bucs take another loss on Thursday night. I don’t lay blame at Brady’s feet. Not saying he shouldn’t retire. Just saying he might want to think about it.

Free For All Friday Ed-vise today. Cause it’s FRIDAY! No open mat (late night at work); Pizza night!

Well, it has been over 30 days of Newbie going to school.

I have yet to see or hear any books related to LGBTQ issues or anything related to Critical Race Theory. I have not seen anything related to any topic the Mommies of Liberty are afraid of come to my house.

And yet I still see politicians shooting their mouth off about the gay Boogey Man being in the school systems and hiding in Disney “porn” movies that feature black mermaids. The Boogey man that wants to mutilate my kid if not abort her at five years old.

Yes, that is all written “tongue in cheek” but when you listen to these T-Rump loving freaks that are GAINING support, that is exactly what they sound like.

I saw Tik Tok (I love Tik Tok) about a city council meeting related to banning books. Just like so many that are going on around the states. The woman made a great point and it went something like this: the people that the Book Banners want to get rid of are the SAME people that the locals GREW UP WITH! And that it is people from OUTSIDE the community, that moved in, that are advocating for the banning of books and for the ostracizing of those they don’t agree with.

GREAT POINT!

Many of the protests going on at school board meetings and city council meetings are being stoked by outsiders from your community.

It’s not a new thing. It has been going on for centuries. “Outsiders” coming into a community and stoking the fires of fear or advocating for some sort of…whatever. They used to be called “Carpet Baggers.” They would travel from town to town and jump into local politics to advocate for whatever. These people could be identified by the suitcase they carried which was made of carpet.

Hollywood made a few movies about such folk and practices. The Music Man for one. Remember his song “There’s Gonna be Trouble. Right here in Rivercity. That’s trouble with a T and that rhymes with P and that stands for POOL!”

The thing today is it doesn’t have quite such a happy go lucky tune. It’s now “There’s Hell and that rhymes with L and that stands for LGBTQ.” I know, I made that up but you get the point.

I advocate for this: if a stranger to your town is attacking the ideas of your friend or person you grew up with, maybe you should advocate for your friend and pay attention to STRANGER DANGER!

I’m just saying

That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember if a polar bear sits on the ice too long, they get…POLAR-ROIDS! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA…OUCH!

Peace
