A leaves picked up GOOD MORNING!!! to you all! Yup, Newbie and I picked up the leaves this weekend. Will probably have to do it again as more fell once we were done. Jealous leaves!
Monday Musings Ed-vise today. Cause it’s MONDAY! So GET AFTER IT!
OK folks.
I watched Yellowstone last night. New season.
Kevin Costner looking tan. Spousal Support Unit pointed out that all the riding on the range would make for a good tan. However, he would have a very white scalp from wearing a cowboy hat. Touche on THAT!
Now, I enjoy Yellowstone. Granted it’s no Game of Thrones or Westworld or American Horror Story (the BEST). But, in a pinch, it’ll do.
I normally have no problem with my “Willing Suspension of Disbelief.” That’s that thing you do when you’re watching a show and, despite the scene, you suspend your disbelief and allow the fantasy to play out, unchecked. No criticizing; No yelling out “NO WAY THAT WOULD HAPPEN!” You just enjoy the story.
Like I said, I “NORMALLY” have no problem. However, one scene I had to speak up.
There is a scene where the boy that Rip and Beth “adopted” is being told to saddle up a horse so he can go riding with the rest of the cowboys to round up cattle.
The kid gets excited and is a bit confused because normally, he just cleans out stables.
That’s fine. Being called up to the “Big Leagues” now would have a bit of a “WOW” factor. I get it.
My problem was he acted like he had no idea of how to saddle a horse!
Why is that a problem? BECAUSE HE WAS DOING IT ALL THROUGH LAST SEASON FOR JOHN DUTTON! How the HELL would he FORGET THAT?!?!?!
COME ON MAN! You know how to put the stupid saddle on the stupid horse! You know what goes on it and must go with you! AND you sure as HELL know you’re supposed to wear your STUPID HAT!
Look, absent the season production, if it was a normal timeline, the kid would have put on the saddle HUNDREDS of times. Literally HUNDREDS. Because he was putting the saddles on the horses for several of the cowboys in addition to Rip and John AND his own!
Another issue that surfaced for me had to do with the horse that was chosen.
He (the kid) had been riding his own horse. In this episode, they had him saddle up John Dutton’s super expensive horse. THAT part has me kinda like WTF? I mean the kid has his own. His own horse he is used to and the horse is used to him. Why would Rip (the SMART cowboy) tell him to ride the MOST EXPENSIVE HORSE in the barn? The BOSSES horse, no less!
Come on Rip! You should know better than that! You should have to let Lloyd break your hand!
I’m just saying
That’s it for today. Take care of yourselves. Check in on each other and remember the loudest pet you can get is a…TRUM-PET! HAHHAHAHAHHAA…(windshield wiper inhale)!
Peace
