Been 10 years now since Sandy Hook happened.
My how time flies by.
10 years since a boy with documented mental issues and an AR went into that elementary school and killed 20 children and 6 teachers.
That was December of 2012.
It wasn’t until THIS year that the parents of the survivors have been able to obtain ANY type of peace.
If you recall, there is a steaming pile of a waste of human DNA named Alex Jones. He and his following of trolls firmly believe, TO THIS DAY, Sandy Hook did not happen.
Jones would go on his Info Wars network and scream how it was a government conspiracy made up by Democrats and the FBI who wanted to steal people’s guns. For 10 years that bag of shit had been puking that line from his microphone under the guise of “Freedom of Speech.”
The hatred spewed by him coupled with the belief of his loser, inbred followers caused those of us who conduct Active Shooter trainings, to put in the “after affect” segment. That part relates to the fact of following such incidents, the survivors WILL receive calls and messages that claim the survivors are lying and that such an event never happened.
They will receive death threats, protests, and violence directed towards them for no other reason than Alex Jones and his band of dull eyed mouth breathers.
This is one of those situations (wrong and hurtful information going out) where the What Would You Do guru really doesn’t have an answer. Turn off phones and what have you, unplugging from social media, all of it, I doubt you could escape the current of ignorant coming down the River of Hate toward you. All you could probably do is reach out to friends and family. Lean into them. It’s all you have.
There are no fires in Hell hot enough for the likes of Alex Jones.
